Set in the heart of the Northumberland National Park, The Star Inn Harbottle is a refurbished country pub with food, drinks, B&B accommodation, a village shop, and a warm welcome for locals and visitors alike. Since being taken over in 2019, the historic coaching inn has been transformed into a place where people can eat, stay, shop, relax, and come together.
What makes The Star Inn stand out is the role it plays in its rural community. From keeping local people supplied during COVID with village shop deliveries and takeaway wood-fired pizzas to supporting local causes, young farmers, schools, churches, and Northumberland Mountain Rescue, the pub has shown itself to be far more than a place to eat and drink.
This award celebrates a pub with real heart, character, and community spirit. Through excellent food, friendly service, quality accommodation, and a commitment to supporting the people around them, The Star Inn Harbottle has become a valued part of life in Coquetdale. “
