This old Visitors’ Book was gifted to us by a customer who had relatives that once ran The Star!
It dates back between 1906 and 1941 with some lovely comments, many referring to tea, weather and overnight stays. Lots of ‘splendid’ times were had by visitors from all over the North East and further afield.
“Weather very unpleasant for July but counterbalanced by the pleasant homeliness of The Star”
“Splendid day, enjoyed tea”
“Back again for tea”
“A lovely place”
“A very enjoyable week”
“The savoy could not have bettered it”
“3rd visit here, walked from Carter Bar via Chew Green and Coquet Valley”
Thank you so much, we will look after it
